Murray, KY – An area of low pressure is driving a long storm system east across the Four Rivers region. The system will spread showers and thunderstorms throughout the area this morning and early afternoon. Some of the storms could be severe, producing damaging wind gusts and hail. Southern Illinois meteorologist Beau Dodson says an isolated tornado can't be ruled out. Dodson says the region will likely see anywhere from a half-inch to an inch of rain today. Pockets of heavier rainfall are possible as some of the slower moving thunderstorm cells track through the area. The National Weather Service has also issued a flash flood warning for communities along the Ohio River. The river will likely continue to swell this week from rain. Storms will slack off this evening and give way to clear skies tomorrow.
