Louisville, KY – Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear says his recent whirlwind economic development trip to India was a success, because he's returning with a new company. Beshear says UFLEX, Ltd., of New Delhi, will open a 90-million dollar, flexible packaging facility in Elizabethtown that will provide hundreds of jobs.
"It will have a great economic impact on Kentucky. But the additional importance of this is the fact that locating a company like this in Kentucky, we think, will open up the gates for more Indian companies to locate in Kentucky."
UFLEX currently has facilities in India, Dubai, Egypt, Mexico and Poland. Beshear left for India on Saturday and returned on Tuesday. It was his second recent economic development trip to India. His first visit was last fall.
