Benton, KY – Marshall County has a new dedicated Sheriff's deputy patrolling Kentucky Lake thanks to a Homeland Security grant. The funds went for the purchase of the county's new patrol boat. WPSD-TV reports the craft has already proven useful when it responded Tuesday to an overturned fishing boat within minutes. The Sheriff's Department plans to keep the boat in the water seven days a week.
