Murray, KY – Showers and thunderstorms are quickly moving through the region this morning. Southern Illinois meteorologist Beau Dodson says this is bad news because it likely means we will see breaks in the clouds later today, fueling instability and helping to produce an additional line of storms. The showers and storms should move out of our area quickly this morning. We can then expect a lull in the precipitation. Dodson says at this point, the atmosphere will recharge itself for more storms after 1 pm. These storms may be severe with large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes.
