Severe Storms Friday Afternoon

By Angela Hatton

Paducah, KY – National Weather Service forecasters says severe thunderstorms are moving east over the region this afternoon. Earlier today, a weather system caused severe damage across Oklahoma and parts of Arkansas. Forecasters say it's now moving across Missouri, but will lessen in intensity when it passes over the Mississippi River. Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky have a slight risk for hail and tornadoes mid-afternoon. Residents can also expect heavy wind gusts. Forecasters say counties in the Pennyrile region are most at risk. Severe weather will clear off by the evening.
