Murray, KY – Kentucky U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield held a tele-town-hall meeting earlier today. He fielded questions from citizens across the congressional district. The meeting took place live over the phone. Listeners called in to ask Whitfield questions ona wide variety of topics.
"These teletownhall meetings, one of the reasons we like them so much is that the calls go out to like 80,000 people, and they join in and listen."
Many questions focused on the economy, the price of gas, alternative energy and the federal budget. Whitfield says he chose to conduct this town hall meeting electronically to allow more citizens to participate who may not be able to travel to a physical location.
