Beshear Fundraising Reaches $4.8 Million So Far

By Associated Press

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear has raised $4.8 million since the beginning of his re-election campaign. Beshear reported Monday that his campaign had taken in an additional $1.27 million between January 1st and April 15th, and, after expenses, still has about $3.3 million in the bank. Beshear is unopposed in the May 17th Democratic primary. One of three Republicans facing off in a GOP primary race will challenge Beshear in the fall general election. The GOP candidates - state Senate President David Williams, Louisville businessman Phil Moffett and Jefferson County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw - haven't yet reported fresh fundraising totals. The deadline for the latest reporting period is Wednesday.
