Paris, TN – Henry Police Chief Mark Herndon could face charges as a result of last week's wreck where he allegedly ran a red light before his patrol unit was struck by a log truck. A Tennessee Highway Patrol investigation finds Herndon at fault for the wreck south of Paris on Highway 79 at the 218 Bypass. The Paris Post Intelligencer reports charges are pending the outcome of Herndon's recovery and a post crash inspection of the log truck, scheduled sometime this week. Herndon was last reported to be in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. The driver of the log truck suffered minor injuries.
