Murray, KY – Murray's Planning Commission recommends the city council consider annexing the 132-acre West Industrial Park to take advantage of insurance savings and taxation opportunities. Murray-Calloway County Economic Development Corporation President Mark Manning calls the move a moral commitment.' He says since the city helps the EDC, its projects should benefit the city. Manning also notes Murray's fire protection would impact savings by improving the industrial park's insurance rating. The EDC-owned property already has access to city water and sewer services. Officials plan to schedule a public hearing to set the area's zoning.
