Paducah, KY – A contractor was on site today to assess storm damage at a historic church tower in Paducah. Strong winds peeled back a copper ring beneath a cross on one of the distinctive Italian domes at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Church business manager Patti Sanders says the interior of the church is not exposed by the damage and the copper ring appears to be stable. Ray Black & Son of Paducah tell the Paducah Sun matching the Italian dome's 1890s construction could be tricky.
