Frankfort, KY – Kentucky's Attorney General Jack Conway has joined 17 other state attorneys general in calling on Pabst Brewing Company to stop marketing "Blast by Colt 45" to youth. Pabst introduced the fruit flavored malt beverage with an alcohol concentration of 12 percent earlier this month in 23 and a half ounce cans. Conway says each can contains the equivalent of nearly five servings of alcohol. The attorneys general expressed "serious concerns" about the alcohol content and youth-friendly flavors in a letter to the brewing company. Conway says he believes Blast poses a serious health and safety risk for youth at a time when the country is fighting to prevent binge drinking. The attorneys general asked that the alcohol content be lowered. Pabst had no immediate response.
