Frankfort, KY – Kentucky education leaders plan to meet next week with energy company executives to discuss the best ways to coordinate academic programs with industry needs. A statement from the state Energy and Environment Cabinet says the April 29th forum is being sponsored by the Kentucky Consortium for Energy Workforce Development. Cabinet Secretary Len Peters says the meeting will aid in coordinating industry needs with college degree programs. He said other goals of the forum are to find ways to create jobs, to educate the workforce for those jobs and to commercialize technology from state research institutes and universities.
