Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks System officials have requested around $30 million dollars in capital projects for the coming budget year. The projects include trail expansions, a new soccer complex, and a special needs athletic field. Deputy Administration Director Tonya Vaden says the demand is outgrowing current facilities. Vaden cites the softball leagues as an example. She says typically 70 - 80 teams sign up. This year, they have 100. The city council is working under a tight budget this year, and Vaden doesn't know how many projects will make it to the final appropriations. The council plans two public hearings ahead of a final reading June 30.
