Murray, KY – A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 9:15 this morning for several river counties in southern Illinois and western Kentucky. Those counties in Illinois are Hardin, Pope and Massac. In Kentucky, the affected counties are Union, Calloway, Graves, Trigg, Marshall, Lyon, McCracken, Caldwell, Livingston, and Crittenden. At 6:30 this morning, weather spotters reported flooding on numerous streets and roads around the area. In Paducah, 32nd Street had water flowing across it in 5 places. This warning means flooding is occurring or is imminent. Authorities warn that most flood-related deaths occur in automobiles. They say you shouldn't try to cross water-covered bridges or dips.
