Washington D.C. – As we've been hearing throughout the morning, al-Qaida leader and founder Osama bin Laden has been killed by U.S. Special Forces in Pakistan. Members of Kentucky's U.S. congressional delegation have issued their responses to the news. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell Sunday night called bin Laden's death "a great victory in the War on Terror." First District U.S. Congressman Ed Whitfield said it was "a triumph for the world and an indisputable victory." In a statement this morning, Senator Rand Paul commended the "troops, the intelligence community, and the military leaders involved in both the administrations of Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama for their perseverance and courage in pursuit of this most grievous enemy."
