McCracken/Livingston Counties – The Paducah Red Cross tri-county shelter is currently providing 22 area residents with food and rest from the continuing storms. McCracken County Emergency Management Services reports the 47 floodgates in Paducah will all be closed by nightfall. The Red Cross will open a second shelter at 8 pm tonight at the Christian Life Center at Salem in Livingston County. Emergency Management Director David Koon says the floodwall is only built for 54 feet. With waters expected to crest at 58, he urges residents to leave the area immediately.
