Storm Damage Losses Top $1 Million in Henry County

Paris, TN – Storm damage in Henry County, Tennessee has been estimated at a cost of more than $1 million. That's according to County Emergency Management Director Ron Watkins. The Paris Post-Intelligencer reports the total of damage to homes was estimated at $380,000. The Paris Board of Public Utilities estimated the storm had cost them a quarter of a million dollars. Henry County officials reported it would cost the county about $135,000 to haul away storm debris around the county. Cities in the county report debris removal costs approaching $100,000. Also, the NOAA weather radio station located in Vale is currently off the air as a result of strong winds. Those who have weather radios tuned to the Vale station area asked to tune their radios to the Mayfield channel until the Vale station becomes operational again.
