Bowling Green, Ky. – General Motors officials have announced they'll invest more than 100-million-dollars in the Bowling Green Corvette plant. Dan Modlin of Kentucky Public Radio has this update.

The sound of Corvette production will continue in Bowling Green. GM North America President Mark Reuss says an investment of $131 will be used to upgrade the plant in Warren County, to build the next generation of Corvettes.

"Last week we announced a number of significant improvements to the 2012 Corvette coming this fall. The third generation will continue for at least two more years, while behind the scenes work will begin to update the facility and ensure the Corvette will continue to be the true American sports car, built here for many years to come."

Reuss says the expanded capabilities at the facility will eventually create about 250 new jobs. Reporting from Bowling Green, this is Dan Modlin for Kentucky Public Radio.
