Paducah, KY – Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky residents can expect at least a few days of sunshine now after more 10 days of seemingly endless rain and severe weather. National Weather Service Storm Surveyors have recorded 30 tornados and more than 20 inches of rainfall in some areas. Paducah, Kentucky, has had the wettest spring on record. N-W-S Forecaster Kevin Smith says this was an extreme event.
"Average April rainfall usually runs a little over four inches. So we are exceeding this by almost four times that amount"
Hydrologists say it will take about a week for rivers and streams to recede.
