Hazel, KY – A judge may soon hear a case involving a dispute between the city of Hazel and a local business owner. Hazel Enterprises Owner Ray Gough has said the city's business license ordinance unfairly targeted his large antique mall. Gough closed his antique mall earlier this year in protest of the ordinance. It asks that each person doing business in Hazel pay a $25 license fee. Mall owners must turn over a list of vendor names and addresses. Gough has refused to turn over the list. Hazel Mayor Kerry Vasseur says the two sides have been unable to settle their disagreement out of court. Vasseur says the city's attorney has asked for the case to go before a judge. Gough has the option to depose the mayor and council members before a court date is set.
