Clarksville, TN – Clarksville, Tennessee is on its way to ban synthetic drugs labeled as bath salts,' plant food or incense. City Council members yesterday unanimously voted to ban stores from selling the substances, which have either a chemical makeup similar to meth or can mimic the effects of marijuana. The ordinance requires a second reading to become law. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports a special session has been scheduled for Monday. Besides banning the sale, transfer and possession of the drugs, the ordinance will also allow the city to fine violators $50 per individual packet.
