Hopkinsville, KY – A fire at an auto salvage lot on the north side of Hopkinsville Wednesday took multiple fire departments to contain. Officials believe an electrical spark in a vehicle triggered the blaze at Transtar Recycling and Auto Salvage. Firefighters were called to the scene again yesterday because a charred heap of scrap metal and cars was still smoldering. The Kentucky New Era reports damage estimates have not yet become available.
