Pembroke, KY – An Amish teenager from Trenton drowned Friday in a farm pond near Pembroke in Christian County. Search and Rescue personnel recovered the body of 15-year-old Sadie King Smoker some two hours after a homemade raft flipped over in a seven-foot deep pond. Two other children were taken to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center where they were later released. Witnesses tell the Kentucky New Era the children were not wearing life vests and didn't know how to swim.
