McCracken Co to Fund MSU Campus

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – McCracken County will help fund the construction of a new Murray State University extended campus along I-24 in Paducah. Commissioners voted unanimously late last week to join with the city and the Greater Paducah Economic Development Council to fund the project with up to $10 million. Judge-Executive Van Newberry tells the Murray Ledger the county will likely be funding about 65% of the project, with the city taking on 35%. Paducah officials will vote on participating in the deal tomorrow. MSU's Board of Regents has a vote scheduled for Friday.
