Kentucky – Kentucky's public and independent colleges and universities conferred an all-time high of 62,700 degrees and credentials during the 2010-11 academic year. This is according to a preliminary report issued today/yesterday (Monday) by the Council on Postsecondary Education. It represents an 11 percent increase from last year. Among the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, associate degrees climbed 13 percent. Statewide, bachelor's degrees increased 6 percent. Graduate degrees increased 9.5 percent overall. In ten years, the largest growth has been at the associate degree level, doubling over the past decade. Master's degrees and professional-practice doctorates represent the second largest ten-year growth.
