Wickliffe, KY – Kentucky Transportation officials have reopened the US-51 Ohio River Bridge linking Wickliffe and Cairo. The bridge has been closed since the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers began flooding last month, prompting a 90-mile detour. Highway workers are clearing a section of US-51 at the Ballard-Carlisle County line just south of Wickliffe, which is covered in mud from floodwaters. Officials hope to reopen that section of highway sometime today.
