Paducah, KY – Paducah's floodgates are coming down, as flood waters recede along the Ohio River. Eight of the gates that are not accessible to the public may stay where they are, though. Public Information Officer Pam Spencer says that City Engineer Rick Murphy is asking some riverside businesses if they would like floodgates on their property to be sealed off permanently. This will eliminate the need to install them in future floods as well as limit unwanted access to a businesses' property.
