Lexington, KY – There are three types of poll workers, judges, clerks, and sheriffs. Roy Bachmeyer is the sheriff of Blairmore precinct in Fayette County. It's his job to make sure there's no electioneering within 100 yards of the precinct building. His other responsibility happens at the end of the day.
"At exactly six o'clock the sheriff gets in the back of the line of people waiting to vote. And no one else can vote after the person in front of the sheriff."
Bachmeyer probably won't have anything to worry about this afternoon, but he urges voters to perform their civic duty.
"There are no lines, or not long enough anyway, so come out before 6."
