Murray, KY – The day after the primary election, Governor Steve Beshear was in western Kentucky.
The governor made stops in Murray and Owensboro. In Murray, Beshear touted the state's job incentives program, and the continuing economic recovery. Western Kentucky is Beshear's home turf.
"And y'know when I campaigned for governor the first time, I promised the folks here if I were elected Governor, I would make sure that western Kentucky would once again have a seat at the table and got its fair share of attention from Frankfort, and I think I've carried out that promise over the last four years."
Beshear faces Senate President David Williams in the November general election. Williams won last night's election with 47 percent of the vote. During his acceptance speech, Williams said Kentuckians are looking for a strong leader, not someone to be their best friend.
