Paducah, KY – Paducah City Manager Jeff Pederson recommends the City Commission not raise taxes to fund next year's nearly $30 million budget because many departments have made cuts. Pederson indicates the city's general fund will balance, but lacks appropriations for capital maintenance. He calls that a major red flag' which could lead to facilities in disrepair. Commissioners are expected to have some difficult decisions to make allocating funds because of a $764,000 shortfall. A budget workshop is scheduled for June 7.
