Frankfort, KY – The Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Authority has given final approval to incentives for a biblical-based theme park. The Ark Encounter project in Grant County was announced earlier this year. It's a 172.5 million dollar investment. Kentucky will provide about 43 million dollars in sales tax rebates over a 10-year period. The theme park is expected to generate tourism revenue for the state. It's drawn controversy as some opponents say it's inappropriate for the state to incentivize a biblically-based project.
