Frankfort, KY – Kentuckians who want to take the GED test still have about six weeks to take advantage of the state's offer to pay for the exam. Kentucky Adult Education, which is part of the Council on Postsecondary Education, is paying the usual $55 fee for anyone taking the test before June 30th. There's still time to prepare for and pass the test in that time frame. Free GED classes are available through local adult education programs in all counties. Students have to successfully finish an official practice test before taking the GED. The test fee will increase to $60 on July 1 for the full five-part test.
