Paducah, KY – The National Weather Service in Paducah has sent out teams to assess possible tornadoes from last night's storm. Barkley Regional Airport recorded wind gusts of 70 miles an hour. Damage to trees and power lines was common throughout the region. Some of the trees landed on vehicles, roads, and outbuildings. Approximately 6,000 households in western Kentucky and northwest Tennessee remain without power. McCracken County Emergency Management Meteorologist Beau Dodson says as many as 75 tornadoes struck the quad state area. Most of the damage appears to have been west and north of western Kentucky. NWS teams go to Massac County, Illinois today. They will be in Owensboro tomorrow.
