Purchase, Pennyrile, Ky. – About a hundred Jackson Purchase Energy customers are still without power today in about a dozen scattered areas from Grand Rivers to Lovelaceville. Most of the downed areas involve clusters affecting fewer than 10 customers. Just under 2,000 West Kentucky Rural Electric customers are without power, the majority of those in Calloway County east of Route 641. CEO David Smart says the remaining outages are scattered across the region. West Kentucky is getting outside help from the co-op in Hickman and Fulton, to relieve workers who've been out since last evening. Smart says they won't have all customers restored today. They should be restored by dark Friday. Clarksville, Tennessee, Department of Electricity crews are replacing poles and removing fallen tree limbs as they restore power. As of 1 pm today, 1,500 customers were without power. Spokesperson Christie Hill had no estimate on when they would be back on.
