Frankfort, KY – Many Kentucky government offices are closed today for a long weekend. Employees at the offices are on furlough, the sixth and final of the budget year. State officials expect the action to save 24 million dollars and prevent layoffs. Mental health personnel at state-run health facilities, prison personnel, and the Kentucky State Police are exempt from furlough.
