Illinois – Illinois communities and schools can now get gas and electric rebates through a newly launched statewide energy-efficiency program. The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity released guidelines for "Illinois Energy Now" Tuesday. The program encourages communities to develop plans to reduce demand for electricity, conserve tax dollars and create green sector jobs. Projects completed between June 1, 2011 and May 15, 2012 are eligible.
