KY Lawmakers' Pay During Legislative Hiatus

By AP

Kentucky – Many Kentucky lawmakers are opting to reimburse the treasury for their pay during a two week period when the state legislature was in limbo. Kentucky House Speaker Greg Stumbo says he will give the pay he received to charities. Senate President David Williams says he will work for 13 days without pay during the legislative interim. He says this move saves the state more money by avoiding Social Security or retirement contributions.
