Clarksville, TN – Clarksville's Charter Revision Committee voted last night to require an additional vote to override a mayoral veto. The move is expected to expand the power of the mayor's office by requiring eight votes instead of seven to outweigh a mayoral veto. However, the Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle notes numerous provisions like this have passed the committee in recent years only to be denied by the state legislature.
