Metropolis, IL – The law went into effect Wednesday and couples are required to wait one day before participating in a service. While thirty-three couples took advantage of the law in Chicago, farther south, there's been no civil union activity. Courthouses from Johnson County down to the Ohio River report no couples have requested civil unions and none have been performed.
