Kentucky – New ways of evaluating Kentucky's teachers are under review by members of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence. The education advocacy group is meeting at General Butler State Park. Prichard Committee interim director Cindy Heine says the primary aim is to help teachers self-improve.
"And there are some that you might want to encourage to move to another profession, but I think the key is are there measures of how teachers are doing that are fair, that they would agree would be fair."
Kentucky's new academic standards, scheduled to kick in this fall, are also on the Prichard Committee agenda.
