Kentucky – The University of Kentucky is teaming with one of the state's largest hospital systems to address pressing health problems in the commonwealth. Spokespersons from UK HealthCare and Norton Healthcare say they'll work together to reduce cancer, strokes and obesity in a state that ranks high in all three categories. Researchers will collaborate on clinical trials with an emphasis on prevention and early diagnosis. They will also work with community hospitals to provide stroke screenings and training to treat stroke victims. A statewide stroke registry is also in the plan.
