Paducah, KY – A prosecutor plans to push for enforcement of traffic fines against nine Amish men cited for not displaying slow-moving vehicle symbols on their buggies. The Kentucky Court of Appeals last week denied a petition from the men, who say displaying the symbol violates their religious beliefs. Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Scott Robbins says he'll ask a Graves County Judge to enforce the citations at an August 25 hearing. The Paducah Sun reports if the men continue to refuse payment, they could be put in jail. American Civil Liberties Union Attorney Bill Sharp says the defense may appeal to the Kentucky Supreme Court.
