Paducah, KY – A man charged with fatally smothering his infant daughter in her crib will go on trial September 26. The trial of 35 year old Jesse Allison of Princeton, originally scheduled for May 24, has been postponed due to a key witness' unavailability. The Paducah Sun reports the medical examiner in the case was unavailable due to medical issues. Allison's attorneys contend the death was caused by the infant becoming wedged in a faulty crib. Both sides point to the crib as a key piece of evidence.
