Mayfield transporation committee

By Krzton-Presson

Mayfield, KY – Mayfield Mayor Teresa Cantrell wants to form a transportation committee to solve problems on her city's roadways. The committee will help prepare for a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Small Urban Transportation Study. Mayor Cantrell says the transportation committee will help correct traffic congestion, beautify roadways, and adjust to future modes of transportation.

"Maybe making sure we plan for more bike routes and more pedestrian walkways and that type of thing as the gas continues to rise and even looking at the possibility of using other types of vehicles like golf carts in certain parts of the town."

Cantrell says there will be public forums to discuss the city's needs. She also says Mayfield citizens interested in being involved with the transportation committee can pick up an application at City Hall.
