Lexington, KY – Kentucky Utilities and LG&E customers now have a new way to find up-to-date information about power outages. People with iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices can download an app that provides an outage map, like the one found on the companies' website. The map displays outage numbers, showing outages by county and zip code. It's regularly updated, and estimated restoration times are provided after the extent of an outage is assessed. The companies say they are also developing additional methods of communication for mobile users, including two-way outage texting and email/phone-based outage updates and notifications.
