Murray, KY – Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway was among Democratic candidates who spoke at this weekend's Jefferson Jackson Dinner in Murray. Conway touched on his efforts in office thus far, including his establishment of Kentucky's cyber crimes unit, Kentucky's prescription pill task force, and lawsuits against price-gouging gas companies.
"When the gas companies stood up and started gouging us during the floods in a time of emergency, I went to court and I said, Stop gouging the consumers of Kentucky. It's wrong to raise your prices during a time of emergency.' We've referred them to the federal government because Kentucky has a monopoly of wholesale gas supply. I know that in this summer season, there are families out there, families out there in places like western Kentucky who are making decisions between gas and groceries."
Conway faces two-term Hopkins County Republican Todd P'Pool in the race for Attorney General. P'Pool is busy raising money on the campaign with scheduled events in Bowling Green with Congressman Brett Guthrie and in Louisville with U.S. Senator Rand Paul.
