Paducah, KY – Paducah Power System has purchased a different plot of land than originally planned for a new substation in Lone Oak. The utility had planned to buy property at 3645 Lovelaceville Road, but residents complained it was too close to homes. Officials say they spent several months looking for a location more suitable for their customers. The company acquired a piece of property down the street. Officials say the cost of this site is also lower because it is closer to existing transmission lines. The new substation will provide extra power to Lone Oak, where substations are at capacity. Construction begins next spring.
