Murray Calloway Transit Authority Takes Loan

By Seth Helton

Murray, KY – Murray Calloway Transit Authority board voted Wednesday to take out a $200,000 dollar line of credit. The credit will be used to pay off debts from an outstanding loan taken out last summer. Executive Director Bjarne Hansen says the move was necessary to continue MCTA's operations. Officials also plan to pay down the liability for payroll to the City of Murray and for any surprise expenses over the next two months. MCTA will use a 4.25 acre plot of land that was donated to the organization as collateral. The MCTA finance committee has drafted a preliminary proposal with hopes of increasing cost-effectiveness and revenue.
