Frankfort, KY – Kentucky's Junior Senator says most people favor amending the Constitution to require a balanced, federal budget. Republican Rand Paul says polls indicate those same Americans take a dim view of the job Congress is doing.
"The other side of that equation you ask the American public, 'Do you think a balanced budget amendment would help Congress do a better job?'. And its about 75-80 percent of the American public think that we would do a better job if we had a balanced budget amendment. I don't think this is a partisan issue."
Paul says a balanced budget amendment would give Congress more "backbone" to get the job done.
