Murray, KY – Cadiz and Trigg County officials may look to a restaurant tax to boost coffers to promote economic growth in the county. County Economic Development Commission, Tourism Commission and Chamber of Commerce considered the tax at a meeting late last week. The proposed three percent tax would be added to all restaurant bills throughout the county. Tourism Commission Executive Director Bill Stevens says all parties involved in the meeting hoped to draw tourism-related businesses to the area. He also says if residents approved the restaurant tax, the revenue would constitute the bulk of the Tourism Commission's funding and bring the county an estimated $280,000 in revenue.
